“After completing medical school in the East, I went searching for a residency program in a ‘good weather state.’ I interviewed at places where I could envision myself staying and putting down roots. I fell in love with Arizona’s mild winters and warm summers.

Today, I am one of three Banner Health-employed family medicine physicians working out of a new office in southeast metropolitan Phoenix. Banner Health has treated us well here. We have both the support and the autonomy to run the practice as our own. As young physicians in a new environment, it was important for us to be able to practice as we were trained—in an uncompromising way. There aren’t too many places that give a new residency graduate the opportunity to build something from the ground up.

Although I’m in the midst of building a growing and successful practice, I’ve been able to maintain balance in my life. I’ve been able to travel to Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean. Recently, I have been spending more time enjoying the beauty of the Southwest. I really enjoy the Arizona lifestyle.”
